GL: What's the latest and greatest Superman? "Just chilling man, living like an American Gangster. I'm ready for my fight next month and fans can get ready for another Super Judah amazing show."
GL: What do you know about your opponent?Zab Judah: "His name is Ryan Davis and he's in trouble. Other than that I don't know anything about him. The fight will be for the IBC junior middleweight title."
GL: Are you disappointed that you're taking another tune up fight before making another big fight?ZJ: "I understand that this is a hot division, but ain't nobody eager to fight a Zab 'Super' Judah. That's what it is and I understand the business, but sooner or later the big dogs will have to holler. Give me one second it'll be alright."
GL: Who do you like in Cotto-Mosley?ZJ: "I just like the winner."
GL: That's the right answer, but as a boxing expert I'm sure you have an opinion on the fight.ZJ: "Mosley could mess up some good money for me in the future, but I don't know. Some days I lean towards Cotto, some days I lean towards Mosley. I honestly want Cotto to win the fight so we can have a bigger fight with the rematch next year."
GL: Does that mean you think there's a better chance of getting Cotto in the ring than Mosley?ZJ: "It's probably an even chance of getting them both. I don't have no business to finish with Shane Mosley, I still have unfinished business with Miguel Cotto."
GL: I'm sure you'd also like to eventually finish up some business with Floyd Mayweather Jr. He fights Ricky Hatton on December 8. Who do you like in that fight?ZJ: "I like Floyd in the fight. It's going to be another Floyd Mayweather show. Another boring, run around for twelve rounds hit him and move and that's it. It'll turn out to be a one sided fight once he gets to moving on Hatton and make him feel like he's in there dancing with the stars, he'll take him out. Hatton's a strong puncher, but I just don't think Floyd's going to be there for none of them."
GL: What about the other champions Cinton and Williams? Are you looking to make something happen with them in the near future?ZJ: "Definitely. I feel that one of those guys will have to fight me soon. Everybody knows that I'll fight anybody and I duck nobody. On the 27th of this month I'll be 30 years old and I'm not trying to tell people who I am now. If they don't know my style and they don't know my MO, they'll never get it. If you want to fight let's fight, if not let's do it. Dudes like Larry Merchant who don't even mention me among the best in the weight class don't want me around anymore. It's the people like him who wish I would do something stupid to get myself 100 years."
GL: Are you hoping that these stay busy fights will enable you perform at your best the next time you get a marquee fight?ZJ: "This is probably what I should have done from the get go. Coming off of the one year suspension with Mayweather I might have been better off taking my time. I could have taken a couple of stay busy fights before I got to Cotto. These guys knows when they should try to fight me and when they shouldn't and it's smart of them. But now I'm back on my grind, I'm back in the gym everyday and I'm liking it again, so they got a problem. Boxing was like a bitch that you get and you're tired of her, and you're like ugh, I'll see her whenever I need something from her. That's what boxing was for me at one time. I don't like her man, but I'll see her to get my rocks off and I'm good. That's what boxing was for me. Now I'm starting to get the love back and I love what I do."
GL: So you're going to get marry boxing again and honor the marriage?ZJ: "I definitely want to get engaged to get. I want to get a couple of good wins, do what I set out to do, slide out and keep it moving."
GL: Is there anything you'd like to say in closing?ZJ: "I'd like to say I heard that some pussy Contender Alfonso Gomez was talking about me. Tell him I said to watch his mouth and watch what he says to me. I'm not a nice guy, I'm not your average boxer."
