Universally recognized number one middleweight contender Winky Wright dismantled Ike Quartey over twelve action packed rounds at the St. Pete's Times Forum. Quartey gave his best effort and didn't shy away from exchanging with Wright, but Winky won most of the early exchanges and began to take Quartey to school down the stretch. Quartey fell victim to two very questionable knockdowns, however there was no doubt Wright deserved the wide-margin unanimous decision victory. Official scores were 117-110, 117-110, 117-109.
