Wright: "Quartey is overpricing himself!"

DiBella: "Let him find someone else to fight then!"

Junior middleweight king Winky Wright has informed Boxingtalk.com that Team Ike Quartey has overpriced themselves for a December 10 bout. Wright informs Boxingtalk that Team Quartey countered his intial offer by requesting $750,000 "and that's definitely overpricing himself. $750,000? What has he done to get that kind of money? Do you know how hard fighters need to work to get those kind of paydays?" asked Wright. Quartey's promoter Lou DiBella disagrees and had this to say, "Let him go find someone else to fight then. Ike just beat Verno Phillips, he's one of the biggest names at junior middleweight and the fact of the matter is, this is a multi-million dollar event. What truly was insulting was their $150,000 offer for Ike to fight Winky." Wright confirmed that his people offered $150,000. Winky also stated that everything was negotiable, but don't expect a Wright-Quartey fight to happen if he has to make $750,000.
