Women's title fight lands in Saudi Arabia

Australia's Skye Nicolson will defend her WBC featherweight title against England's Raven Chapman on October 12th on the card headlined by the world light heavyweight championship fight between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Nicolson (11-0, 1 KO), age 28,will look to make the second defense of her WBC crown against Chapman (9-0, 2 KOs), age 30, a dangerous and quality opponent.

Nicolson, from Yatala, Australia, trains in England and reports ready and excited for this great challenge. No crowing or platitudes. Just plainly: “I feel very honored to have this privilege. Raven and I have the responsibility to put on a show for the fans, to be in a real fight where we show that women can fight, that women can be strong and feminine. I feel that it is a really empowering position to be in, to inspire women as well. I feel very honored to be in this position and to be part of this movement, and I hope that it is a step in the right direction, hopefully the first of many. Hopefully we can start seeing women’s fights on all the cards of the Riyadh Season”.
