Wlodarczyk-Cunningham lands in Poland, Nov. 25

According to Hammer Knockout Promotions, on November 25, 2006 Warsaw will host the Krzysztov Wlodarczyk-Steve Cunningham cruiserweight fight for the vacant IBF championship.  The venue will be the 7500-seat Torwar Sport Hall. European commentators are alreadycalling it the most significant boxing match ever to take place in Poland (Dariusz Michalczewski defended his light heavyweight title in his native Poland only once, against Joey DeGrandis, hardly a top opponent). Wlodarczyk, at 36-1, is the most popular active boxer in Poland.  This will not be a showcase fight as Cunningham, 19-0, is one of the world's top 200-pounders. The winner of this fight will rank below only O'Neill Bell as the world's top cruiserweight.
