Bradford's Junior Witter has all but given up hope of getting domestic rival Ricky Hatton into the ring.
"I will still call his name, but deep down I know the chances are that Hatton won't fight me," said the current British, Commonwealth and European champion and WBC number 3.
"I have thrown my hat into the ring enough times, but Ricky keeps booting it back out again.
"Whilst there is a glimmer I wont give up, but I need to do my own thing and continue moving past him."
Witter began that process by knocking out highly respected Salvatore Battaglia in just two rounds in June.
Next up is Poland's Krzystof Bienias on the Hennessy Sports 'Born to do it' promotion at the Wembley Conference Centre on Friday November 12th.
"Bienias is going to come out all guns blazing, but that will just make me look all the better," added Witter, 29(18)-2-1. "I love counter punching.
"He probably thinks he is a bit special because he took Oktay Urkal to a points decision in his own backyard and beat WBO number 2 Yuri Romanov.
"He will know what special is when he is looking up at me."
