Junior Witter defended his European junor welterweight title with a narrow decision over Andreas Kotelnik in Nottingham. Witter, 32-1-2, won by scores of 115-114 (twice) and 117-111.  According to the BBC, there were some boos in the crowd even though Witter was the local boxer. Recent upheavals in the 140-pound division have resulted in Witter moving up to the #5 spot in the Boxingtalk ratings. He could be two fights away from a shot at world champion Ricky Hatton, with an IBF eliminator next.  Kotelnik, a former Olympian, drops to 24-2. He is rated #15 by Boxingtalk. source: BBC.
