Witherspoon headlines at Blue Horizon

Three highly rated prospects will look to continue their winning ways on Friday, April 6 when Vernoca L. Michael and Blue Horizon Boxing Promotions presents “Night of the Undefeated” at The Legendary Blue Horizon on North Broad Street in Philadelphia.

Heavyweight Chazz Witherspoon, 16-0 with ten knockouts will be featured in the main event fighting in an eight round bout against an opponent to be named shortly.

Witherspoon, the cousin of former two-time Heavyweight champion Tim Witherspoon, has been mentioned in numerous media outlets as one of the fastest rising Heavyweights in the world and is coming off a 2nd round knockout over Patrick Smith on February 10th in Philadelphia.

This will be Witherspoon’s second fight at The Legendary Blue Horizon.  He needed just two rounds to take out Innocent Otukwu last September 15th in his maiden voyage to The Legendary Blue Horizon.

Fresh off his redemption win on February 9th at The Legendary Blue Horizon, Light Heavyweight Max Alexander of Camden, New Jersey will be risking his 13-0-1, two knockout record into the co-feature against an opponent to be named shortly.

Alexander took apart the capable Marty Lindquist in that bout on February 9 by scoring four knockdowns en route to the easy unanimous decision (79-69 on all cards).

This will be Alexander’s seventh appearance at The Legendary Blue Horizon as he has amassed a record of 6-0 with two stoppages in his previous appearances at the North Broad Street building.

The third co-feature will be yet another Light-Heavyweight bout between the popular and undefeated Chucky Cavallo of Trenton, New Jersey and the aforementioned Marty Lindquist of Blaine, Minnesota in a scheduled eight round bout.

Cavallo, has a record of 13-0 with four knockouts amd  brings an exciting style and loud cheering section that makes him one of the most popular fighters in the area.

Cavallo will be making his first appearance at The Legendary Blue Horizon and will look to thrill the knowledgeable Blue Horizon crowd with an impressive performance.

Cavallo is coming off a first round stoppage over Andre Hemphill last December 29th in Valley Forge, Pa.

Lindquist will try to rebound from the loss to Alexander that took place at The Legendary Blue Horizon on February 9th.  He has tremendous punching power as evidenced by his 12-5 record with nine knockouts.

The undercard for this great evening of boxing is taking shape as one of the most exciting fighters, Elad Shmouel of Tel Aviv, Israel will look to excite The Legendary Blue Horizon crowd in the same fashion as his four previous bouts in Philadelphia, as he takes on upset specialist Ricardo Medina.

Shmouel, 16-1 with eight knockouts is coming off a dramatic victory over previously undefeated Ryan Belasco on February 9th at The Legendary Blue Horizon.

Shmouel was knocked down early in round one and Belasco was seconds away from having the fight stopped when Shmouel mounted a furious comeback to take the next three rounds and eventually the fight by unanimous decision.

This will be Shmouel’s fifth visit to The Legendary Blue Horizon and he hopes to stay perfect and add his third knockout to his Legendary Blue Horizon ledger.

To do that, Shmouel will have to get past the 65-fight veteran Medina.  Medina has a deceiving record of 30-31-4 with seventeen knockouts and will look to spring his 2nd consecutive Legendary Blue Horizon upset in the same fashion he did on February 9 when he took a split decision from favored Lenny DeVictoria.

Two undefeated fighters will give this “Night of the Undefeated” an international feel asd as “Slick” Simon O’Donnell, 3-0, 2 KO’s makes the long plane ride from Galway, Ireland to make his 2nd Blue Horizon appearance in a four round Middleweight bout against an opponent to be named.
