Charles Conwell TKO7 Gerardo Vergara... In a battle of undefeated junior middleweights held in Ontario, California, Charles Conwell stopped Gerardo Vergara in round seven. They had similar records, but Conwell, from Ohio, was a level above the Argentinean visitor. Vergara was durable, but Conwell (23-0 including the World Series of Boxing) won every round. In the seventh, he had Vergara (20-1) out on his feet when the referee appropriately stepped in a few seconds before the round ended. 

Scrappy Ramirez W10 Ephraim Bui... At Toyota Arena in Ontario, Califonia, John "Scrappy" Ramirez defeated Ephraim Bui in a super flyweight bout. It was a unanimous decision win for Ramirez, who prevailed by a trio of 97-93 scorecards. Ramirez, from Los Angeles, was coming off a loss to David Jimenez in an interim title bout. Bui came in undefeated but now has a 10-1 record.
