Wilson added to Team Chapman

PRESS RELEASE: Respected trainer Norman Wilson has joined the team of up-and-coming heavyweight prospect JD “The Natural” Chapman, 19-0 (17 KOs), as an assistant to head trainer and former heavyweight champion Michael Moorer. Wilson has trained a slew of top heavyweights including former champions Tony Tucker, Oliver McCall, Trevor Berbick, and Shannon Briggs, as well as top contenders Bert Cooper and Razor Ruddock.

“I had the opportunity to get a great trainer like Norman Wilson to help out with JD and I jumped on it,” explained Moorer. “I'm very pleased with JD's progress and Norman’s assistance is going to make the team that much stronger."

With no amateur career to speak of, the naturally powerful Chapman has shown drastic skill improvement under the tutelage of Moorer while scoring four impressive victories, including his last two – over opponents who were a combined 29-1-1. Chapman made his national pay-per-view debut last month by scoring a unanimous 12-round decision over previously undefeated Edward Gutierrez.

“The Natural” will be back in action on February 4 at the Pope County Fairgrounds, in Russellville, Arkansas, when he takes on cross-town rival Marvin Hill for the Vacant NABC and Arkansas State Heavyweight Titles.
