Wilson Ding-a-Lings Nwodu's bell in 11

Darnell Wilson KO11 Emmanuel Nwodu... In Staten Island, New York on Friday, cruiserweight contender Darnell Wilson knocked Emmanuel Nwodu down once in the early rounds and at one point, Nwodu looked like he might quit on his stool, but the action slowed in the middle rounds as Wilson seemed bothered by a cut over his eye. Nwodu worked his way back into the fight as Wilson's activity slowed considerably. However, "The Ding-A-Ling Man" gathered himself and scored a spectacular knockout of the much taller Nwdou in the eleventh round. Wilson, now 22-5-3, came charging in to end the fight and Nwodu crumpled awkwardly, perhaps injuring his knee on the way down from the force of Wilson's blows. Nwodu falls to 20-4, while Wilson's run of consecutive victories over Nwodu, Kelvin Davis, Dale Brown and Daniel Judah is one of the current best in the 200-pound division. Nwodu was taken to the hospital for examination, and the unfortunate consequence of that was a bout involving Staten Islander Nicky DeMarco was cancelled due to lack of an ambulance. DeMarco had many fans in attendance, including Paul Malignaggi, who had waited patiently until midnight to see their favorite.

Chucky Cavallo W8 Marlon Hayes... Also on the Staten Island card, New Jersey product Chucky Cavallo improved to 16-0 with a career-best win over professional opponent Marlon Hayes, 23-8.Â
