Welterweight Selcuk Aydin to face Said Ouali on Nov. 18th in Istanbul

Press Release: On November 18th 2008, Ahmet Öner will once more present world class boxing in Turkey. The bill will feature welterweight Selcuk Aydin, middleweight contender Mahir “Lion” Oral and Geman heavyweight prospects Steffen Kretschmann and Konstantin Airich.

“I’m glad that we finally hold a big show in Istanbul after we’ve already been to Ankara and Trabzon ” states Öner. “We will present a great night of boxing with a very exciting main event.”

“Mini-Tyson” Selcuk Aydin (16-0, 13 KOs) is set to defend his regional belt against tough contender Said Ouali (24-2, 16 KOs). 29-year-old Ouali, born in Morroco and fighting out of Las Vegas.

“I don’t care about my opponent’s name, record or world rank”, states Aydin. “I know that a lot of boxers are scared by strong opposition. I don’t care about my opponents at all. I am a fighter, a true warrior. Whoever gets in my way will be knocked out. That’s it.”

If the “Thunderstorm from the Black Sea” (“Karadeniz Firtinasi” as Selcuk is called in Turkey ) can overcome Ouali he could earn himself a shot at the world title soon.

“Selcuk definitely got what it takes to become world champion”, says Ahmet Öner. “He’s got one of the most devastating punches in the division and the absolute willpower to just overwhelm his opponent. When he gets rolling he is extremely hard to stop.”
