Jake Paul and the legendary Mike Tyson step into the ring on Friday (November 15th) for one of the most discussed and debated fights of the year. Netflix will televise the eight-round, two-minute bout, which will take place at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, which holds 80,000. Paul puts his 10-1 record on the line, with his only loss coming to Tommy Fury in 2023, while Tyson hopes to roll back the years that delivered a stellar career and scary record of 50-6, with 44 KOs. The original bout was scheduled for July but was pushed back to November after Tyson suffered an ulcer flare-up, which has raised concerns about the boxing legend's fitness.
Tyson, who became the youngest heavyweight champion in history in 1986, is now age 5 and has not fought competitively since losing to Kevin McBride in 2005. He had an eighjt-round exhibition vs. Roy Jones in 2020. If Tyson can rediscover any of his fearsome power and menace from his heyday, then Paul will face his toughest test to date. Paul has already fought twice in 2024. He kicked off his year with a TKO win over Ryan Bourland in the first round, before beating bare knuckles star Michael Perry in July.
The fight card also sees Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano fight in a rematch for Taylor's four 140-pound titles. Here is the full line-up:
Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson;
Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano for Taylor's world junior welterweight championship;
Mario Barrios vs. Abel Ramos for Barrios's WBC welterweight title;
Neeraj Goyat vs. Whindersson Nunes;
Shadasia Green vs Melinda Watpool for the vacant WBO super middleweight title;
Lucas Bahdi vs. Armando Casamonica; and
Bruce Carrington vs Dana Coolwell.
