Webb Speaks Regarding Suit With Warren!

Just minutes ago, Straight Out Promotions chief Chris Webb told Boxingtalk.com, "First of all, I have the utmost respect for Judd Burstein and obviously Frank Warren must feel there's something there otherwise he would not have retained Burstein. Secondly, I feel that after Judd reviews all of the true facts and not just Warren's lies he will look at this case in a different manner. Straight Out Promotions has lived up to every obligation we have made. It's not a simple case. It's multiple cases. Everyone keeps trying to avoid the fact that Frank Warren and his company were required to pay me $2,700,000 prior to the fight. Since Andy Ailing was the only Sports Network represntative in Louisville, I had my lawyers on site and we acquired affadavits from Mr. Ailing instructing us of what to do. The only reason Frank was worried about his fighter getting paid prior to the fight was because he hadn't paid the $2.7M like he was supposed to. We put the money exactly where we were instructed to put it, however, that Monday morning following the fight we received a letter stating that we were in breach because Andy Ailing was not authorized to make those decisions. At no time did any check bounce from Straight Out Promotions and the letter of breach was sent prior to when it was due. All I want Frank Warren to do is pay the money he owes for the foreign distribution rights and honor his agreement. The least of my concerns is spending money in England, if that's where this goes, for me to get my money back. The real breach is in regards to Warren and Ed Simons illegally selling the foreign distribution rights. I am more than confident that we have enough documentation that ties Warren and Simons to their shell company, and at the end of the day, all that Straight Out Promotions is attempting to do is collect the money that could have killed the fight because of their failure to honor their commitments."
