Wayne McCullough to the Rescue

Uses CPR On Stricken Airline Passenger

Press Release: On Sunday night, Wayne McCullough was traveling home to Las Vegas from Montreal from the UFC 83 show in Montreal.  He boarded his flight in Canada with his friends and family, several other UFC staff members and MMA fighters. A little over halfway through the flight, Wayne saw a commotion in the row in front of him.  Two ladies were traveling together and one was panicked and began shouting for help.  Instinctively Wayne jumped over his wife and daughter- from his window seat - to help. The lady in question was slumped in her seat and her companion, who was forcefully pushing her back and forward in her seat, said she wasn't breathing.  Wayne, knowing CPR, checked to see if she was breathing and, confirming that she wasn't, pushed her chest hoping to get a reaction.  But there was nothing. The flight attendant who had come to help called for the medical cart and asked to notify the pilot.  She decided the lady needed to be removed from her seat so they could perform CPR.  They began to lift her from her seat but just at that moment the lady gasped for air and looked around, shocked to see everyone paying her so much attention.  She said she was OK and refused to believe that she wasn't breathing. Wayne returned to his seat but kept an eye on the lady for the rest of the flight. Wayne said "It was a packed plane and I was the first to respond after the flight attendant.  It was a natural reaction for me because I knew I could help since I know CPR.  I didn't panic.  I'm just really thankful that the lady is OK."
