Warrior's Boxing responds to O'Neil Bell

Moments ago, Leon Margules, executive director of Warrior's Boxing Promotions told Boxingtalk.com, "O'Neil Bell is a great fighter who Warrior's stands by and has stood by from the begining. We have done the best we could to promote his career and make him a champion. Warrior's Boxing always works with people with integrity and respect and we will continue to do that. Warrior's Boxing spent astronomical amounts to free him from promotional contract with Bobby Hitz and to get him his IBF title and actually paid for him to defend his title in our arena. The contract that he's talking about, when Don King won the purse bid he sent O'Neil Bell a bout agreement. King sent him the bout agreement and sent me the bout agreement at the same time. He sent it directly to the fighter, I then wrote King and told him he shouldn't have done that it should have been a provision of services agreement because we're his promtoer and we have him under until February 2009. We intend to continue to promote to the best our ability with integrity and respect for him and everything he's accomplished. We think he's agreat fighter who's entitled to as much money as the free market will pay him. But we're also entitled to earn money as his promoter and we will continue to do the best that we can for him."
