Frank
Warren has retained Judd Burstein to represent him in the Chris Webb/Straight Out Promotions suit over the future
rights of Mike Tyson conqueror Danny Williams. "It's a silly case for a couple of reasons. First, the
agreements at issue require that any disputes get resolved over in Europe. They don't have the rights to pursue
this case. Beyond that, all of the reports that have come out omit very key facts, the most important of which,
Straight Out Promotions signed an agreement that required the immediate payment of $50,000 in June and Webb never
paid that money. From that point on they've been in breach. Everything that Frank Warren insisted upon later on
were entirely appropriate in light of the fact that there was no obligation to produce Danny Williams at all.
Straight Out has breached in the most significant fashion. It didn't pay the money when it was supposed to. This is
not like those old comics where Wimpy says I'll gladly pay you on Tuesday for a hamburger today. To me it's a very
easy case. In the end, I don't think I'll play a major role in resolving this because I think it will end up back
in England, where Chris Webb will have to deal with the fact that not only will his legal cost be far more
expensive, but he'll have to pay Warren's legal fees if he loses," stated Burstein from his offices in New
York. Remember where you heard it first! (2: 15 PM/ET)
