Ward, Abell win on ShoBox

Joey Abell W10 Teke Oruh... In the ShoBox main event from the island of St. Lucia, late sub Joey Abell won a majority decision over Teke Oruh by scores of 95-95, 96-94 and a too-wide 98-92. Abell looked completely unsure of himself but came on late in the uninspring heavyweight fight to claim the win. Given that Abell came in with 17 KO wins in a 17-1 career, it was confusing to see him fight so passively, but he did show some ability. Still, he is a work in progress. The Nigerian Oruh, now 14-1-1, didn't fight with enough fire and the loss represents a setback for him. source: shobox on showtime

Andre Ward TKO5 Roger Cantrell... 2004 Olympic gold medal winner Andre Ward continues to be brought along slowly, but in a battle of unbeatens, he completely outclassed Roger Cantrell. Ward, a super middleweight, improved to 14-0 while Cantrell falls to 13-1 in his first start outside of Tacoma, Washington. Cantrell wasn't close to going down, but when Ward snapped his head back, the referee decided to stop the bout. It was premature in the sense that Cantrell wasn't really hurt, but  it likely wouldn't have made a difference because there seemed to be no way for Cantrell to overcome Ward's lead and superior skills. source: shobox on showtime
