Wandee held to draw by Jun Arlos

Yesterday afternoon (Nov 16) at Sukhothai Thammathirat University in Nonthaburi Province, Thailand, former WBC 105-pound king, Wandee Singhwangcha (Chor Charoen) had an off night defending his WBC International light flyweight belt. In rounds 1-4, the Thai had effective left jabs to outscore his Filipino challenger, Jun Arlos. Round 5-6, Arlos used an aggressive style to pound at Wandee but the Thai countered with body shots to stop Arlos' attack. Wandee, suffering from back pain and leg strain less than a week in his sparring, lost his power and his foe beat him in round 7-9. Wandee came back in round 10, but he was dropped in the next round due to an accidental low blow. After 5 minutes rest, Arlos attacked the Thai champ until the final bell sounded. The official scorecards from Thai judge, Noppharat Sricharoen is 115-113 for Wandee, from Filipino judge, Warren Jaro is 116-113 for Arlos, and from Korean judge Jae-Bong Kim is 114-114. Therefore wandee retained his belt by draw. On the undercard fights, Valenciano-Filipino fighter, Jack Verano beat Thai boxer, Jongcharoen Carryboy by 6-round unanimous decision. The former PABA Lightweight champ, Sathaporn Singhwangcha (Boonmalert) scored a KO1 over Iranian Amin Useng. And Kongthawat Singhwangcha (Sor Kitti) stopped Lertsila Singmanassak in five.
