Shame on PrimeMMA, a promoter of freak show combat events. Just two weeks after heavyweight boxer Mariusz Wach was stopped by Tyson Fury, Prime MMA put the 46 year-old Wach in a six-against-one cage fight. Predictably, the middle-aged Wach got destroyed. The contest was stopped after three rounds of punishment left Wachdazed and bloody. Simply disgraceful conduct by the promoter and any regulators who approved this garbage.

 

PRIOR BOXINGTALK COVERAGE -- JULY 25, 2026: In Pattaya, Thailand, former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury defeated Poland's Marius Wach when the 46-year old quit on his stool after the seventh round. The result means that a British super fight between Fury and another British former world champion, Anthony Joshua, is now one step closer. Joshua fights on Saturday in Saudi Arabia vs. another soft touch, Kristian Prenga. Fury, age 37, is now 36-2-1 with two wins this year after two straight losses in world championship fights vs. Oleksandr Usyk. The WBC wrote: "From the opening bell, the former heavyweight world champion dictated the pace with his trademark footwork, speed precision and high IQ ring generalship. Wach displayed the teak toughness that has defined his career, but gradually buckled under Fury’s relentless attack.Fury landed powerful combinations throughout the contest, punishing both the body and head of his opponent until Wach’s corner decided to stop the fight at the end of the seventh round, giving the British star a technical knockout victory."

 

 

JULY 1, 2026: The BBC and other outlets are reporting that former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury will fight 46 year-old Mariusz Wach of Poland on July 24th in Thailand. The bout, which is not expected to be competitive, will serve as Fury's tune-up for a British super fight vs. Anthony Joshua, also a former heavyweight champion. In fact, Joshua has a fight scheduled for the following day (July 25th) vs. Kristian Prenga, who like Wach, is based in New Jersey. Wach is 39-13 and was a respectable fighter in his prime and shared the ring with many big names, including ex-champ Wladimir Klitschko. But lately, he has descended to the point where he took part in a farcical MMA match where he fought three social media influencers at the same time. Fury is 35-2-1 and last fought in April, a twelve-round win over fringe contender Arslanbek Makhmudov.
