Fomrer multi-division champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez has confirmed that his comeback bout against undefeated WBC super middleweight champion Christian Mbilli (pictured) will now take place on October 31st in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The fight was originally scheduled for September 12th but was postponed due to personal matters that delayed the Mexican star’s training camp. The WBC announced that its super middleweight championship will be on the line. Alvarez will be looking to return to the top of the division, while Mbilli will be making the first defense of the title he inherited after being elevated from interim champion to full WBC champion. Alvarez is a four-division champ with a pro record of 63-3-2. He lost the world super middleweight championship to Terence Crawford last September. With Crawford announcing his retirement after defeating Alvarez, Mbilli was named the WBC champion. His record is 32-0-1 including the World Series of Boxing. Both fighters have been inactive since September 2025, so this showdown promises to be one of the most significant boxing events of the year.
