Olivia Curry and Kaye Scott will battle for the vacant WBC women’s middleweight championship on September 19th at the historic Fox Theatre in Detroit, Michigan. The fight will be promoted by Salita Promotions. With the WBC belt vacant since Claressa Shields moved up in weight, both fighters get an opportunity to claim their first world title. Curry, fighting out of Chicago, comes in with a record of 7 wins, 2 losses, and 1 draw. Her last two fights were a loss to Shadasia Green (now a champion at super middleweight) and then a draw against a fighter with a 1-1 record. Curry has not fought in sixteen months. Australia’s Scott holds a mark of 4 wins and 1 defeat. Scott is coming off a loss to Delsey Robinson, the IBF/WBO middleweight champion.
