Interestingly, the story of career began in Mexico City, where he made his professional debut on March 10, 2017, defeating Mauricio Cruz via unanimous decision at the Carpa Astros in Tlalpan. Rodriguez is a two-division champion who until this news broke, held three belts at super flyweight. Rodríguez is now looking to kick off a new era. His next step will take place this coming June 13th in Glendale, Arizona, where he will step into the ring to challenge Antonio Vargas for the WBA bantamweight title.
