WBC 42nd Annual Convention Report I

The 42nd Annual WBC Convention was declared open by Thailand Deputy Prime Minister Suwat Liptapanlop on Monday October 4th at the Phuket Arcadia Resort & Spa (Operated By Hilton International) around 10:00am (Local time). It begab by welcoming words from Veeraphol Nakornluang Promotion (Sahaphrom). Then Mr. Suwatt thanked the WBC and Asian Boxing Council (ABCO) president, Police General Kovid Bhakdibhumi, for bringing this convention to Thailand. The highlight of yesterday morning was a speech delivered by Dr. Jose Sulaiman, WBC president. He said: " It was also shocking because the WBC did absolutely nothing wrong to Graciano Rochchigiane.  We are totally innocent. If anything bad was done to the boxer, it was not by the WBC. There were also some of us  who never lost faith, who thought it would be better to die rather than surrender and who would fight to the very end. But like Julio Cesar Chavez, who was losing his fight to Meldrick Taylor until the last few seconds, got up on the canvas and knocked him out, we regained our pride and prestige, and are now back fighting to give boxing the glow and prestige, plus a bright future."  The WBC champions, both the current and fomer title holders, who joined "The Convention of Loyalty" are Saensak Muangsurin (former WBC Sp. Light champ), Chartchai Chionoi (former The Ring/WBC/WBA Fly champ), Sod Chitalada (former WBC Fly champ), Saman Sor Jaturing (former WBC/IBF Lt. Fly champ), Wandee Singhwangcha (former WBC Minimum champ), Sirimongkol Singhwangcha (former WBU Jr. Bantam, WBC/WBU Bantam, and WBC  Sp. Feather champ), Jeff Fenech (former IBF Bantam, WBC Sp. Bantam and Feather champ), In Jin Chi (Current WBC Feather champ), Oscar Larios (Current WBC Sp. Bantam champ), Phonsaklek Krathingdaeng Gym (Current WBC Fly champ), Eagle Kyowa (Current WBC Minimum champ), and Katsushike Kawashima (Current WBC Sp. Fly champ).
