The WBA has ordered a purse bid for the vacant lightweight world title bout between Floyd Schofield and Lucas Bahdi. The bidding is scheduled for Tuesday, August 11th in Cypress, Texas. The title was recently stripped from Gervonta "Tank" Davis, who had not defended it since March 2025 and is in over his head in legal issues, including charges of violence against a girlfriend. Bahdi is 20-0 with four straight quality wins -- thre of them over undefeated foes and one against former world title holder Roger Gutierrez. Schofield is 19-0 and considered the better prospect than Bahdi. Svhofield holds a win over former world title holder Tevin Farmer.
