The WBA has not approved the Jaime Munguia vs. Nikita Zon bout. Bektemir Melikuziev is the official contender in the super middleweight division but Munguia is seeking to avoid him and fight someone else on the Saul “Canelo” undercard later this month in Saudi Arabia. The WBA stopped short of saying it will strip Munguia of his title if he goes through with the fight, but it did state that it will “review the situation.”
