Undefeated former three
division champion, Floyd Mayweather Jr., was recently named mandatory challenger to WBA junior welterweight champ
Vivian Harris. In a move that shouldn't surprise too many, Mayweather has decided he'd rather maintain his #1
mandatory status to WBC junior welterweight champ Arturo Gatti, and has now been passed over by the WBA, who have
now ordered Team Harris to commence negotiations with Team Oktay Urkal, the next available contender. Harris went to
Germany and decisioned Urkal in his last fight, and after declining the fight with Ricky Hatton it looks as if he's
going to have to defeat Urkal again, probably in his backyard, if he wants to hold on to his title. Boxingtalk.com
will have more to follow but until then Remember where you heard it first! (12:35 PM/ET)
