Vivian Harris on a mission to snatch Witter's strap

GL:  What's the latest and greatest with Vivian Harris? "Everything is good. I'm just waiting for a date, so I can go back home to London."

GL:  How do you feel about having to go overseas to fight Whitter?

VH:  I have no problem with that.  That's a true champion.  I've already said it doesn't matter where I have to go, I'll go.  I'm an athlete, and that's what it is.  It's going to be the same outcome in America as it would be in Africa.  In London it would be the same outcome.  It's not going to be different, because I'm going to train the same way, hard.

GL:  Do you look at your experience with Urkal as something that makes you more confident going into this, since you've already gone to Germany twice?

VH:  Yeah, not just Urkal, but you have to remember I've fought M'Baye

GL:  But you fought M'Baye over here, no?

VH:  I fought Baye right here.

GL:  We're talking about going over seas, that's why I used Urkal.

VH:  Okay, okay.  Even when I was going to fight Urkal, I didn't have a problem with it.  I'm an athlete, a fighter, a true champion, and that's why I want the whole world to see Vivian Harris.  If it's televised, wherever it's going to be, I'm going to act my best, and do what I have to do.  When my name is mentioned, it's going to get mentioned to travel around the world.

GL:  Is making 140 still no problem?

VH:  It's no problem, my weight is great.  I'm walking around at 150 right now.  I'm good, I'm working hard to keep myself in shape.  I'm ready to go, I'm just waiting for this date.  My opponent is a great fighter, but I feel I'm something different.

GL:  Do you feel you have to knock him out to come back with the title, or do you feel that if you do what you have to do you'll get a fair decision?

VH:  I definitely know I'm going to get a fair decision, because my fight is going to be fair, but it won't be too close.  I try to win every round in the fight.  If he survives, he survives.  If he happens to get knocked out, he gets knocked out.  I'm number one in the world.  I've got a little man, Tim Coleman, up in Baltimore.  He's 10-0, and he would love to fight the kid who just called me out.  I think that's a fight that he should take right now.  I'd be happy if he can do that.  My man King Kong Coleman, he's coming up, beautiful fighter.  That would be a great match-up for the two of them.  If he can get past my man, then he can holler at the king.

GL:  What kind of date are you looking at for the fight, when do you expect to have the date?

VH:  My promoter is telling me probably in July or August.  I don't know.

GL:  You're just waiting and staying in shape.

VH:  Yes, whatever, I'm ready.

GL:  Are you in New York now?

VH:  Yes.

GL:  We need to get together soon.  Give us some closing thoughts for the fans, ansd we'll wrap this up.

VH:  Right now I'm about to collect an award.  My Country is celebrating their independence, and they're giving me an award for my accomplishments, for being a champion, and for being the only Guyanese number one in the world.  I'm going to accept that award right now, so you can put that up.

GL:  I will.
