According to ESPN, Virgil Hill says he has negotiated a deal to fight Henry Maske in Germany, probably in January. Promoters of the Roy Jones-Prince Badi Ajamu pay-per-view bout in Boise, Idaho tonight probably aren't happy, as they hired Hill as a broadcaster and were keen on matching Hill against Idaho homeboy Kenny Keene, who also fights tonight. Hill defeated Maske 10 years ago to unify three of the light heavyweight title belts. Both Hill and Maske are 42, but Maske hasn't fought since then while semi-active Hill still wears the WBA's regular cruiserweight title. Hill is 50-5, while Maske is 30-1. After defeating Maske, Hill lost the championship to Dariusz Michalczewski. For years, Michalczewski and Roy Jones both claimed true champion status, but they both cheated the fans out a real super fight, instead concentrating on low-risk mandatory defenses. --Scott Shaffer
