PRESS RELEASE: According to the German boxing promotional outfit Universum, heavyweight Vladimir Virchis outweighed Michael Sprott by almost ten pounds prior to their clash tomorrow evening in Soelden, Austria. Virchis, 19-0 (17), weighed in at 242.5 pounds, compared to just below 233 for Sprott. The Ukrainian Virchis will defend his regional title against Englishman Sprott, 27-8 with 14 KOs in a bout to be shown live on Eurosport tomorrow. In 2005, Sprott upset previously undefeated Cengiz Koc but then lost to Paolo Vidoz by decision ina bid for the European heavyweight championship. The event is promoted by Spotlight Boxing and includes nine fights.
