Former world champion “Cool” Vince Phillips, now 42 years old cheated Father Time by scoring a mild upset over Brazilian Kelson Pinto. The fight, a five-round majority technical decision victory for Phillips, headlined a four-bout Maldonado Promotions card at the Ontario Convention Center in Ontario, California. With the victory, Phillips retained a regional welterweight title.
