Brian Viloria W12 Jose A. Aguirre... Brian Viloria successfully defended his WBC light flyweight title for the first time, defeating former 105-pound champion Jose Antonio Aguirre of Mexico by unanimous decision. Official scores were 116-112 twice and 117-111. It was a tough night for Viloria, as Aguirre absorbed his vaunted power punches and kept on coming. At the midway point, some on press row had the bout even. Viloria found his second wind in the later rounds, and his speed and boxing ability won him the fight down the stretch. Hopefully, a much-talked about bout with Jorge Arce will be made for later this year.
