BT: BoxingTalk.com here with former undisputed welterweight champion of the world, Brooklyn's own, Super Zab Judah. Super, how's life treating you these days? "Before I start I must say this is the greatest, I mean the greatest website where you can catch boxing, fights, period. The only, the greatest website where you can catch Zab Judah exclusivly. Big shout out to my boy G. Leon. Now let's get it on."
BT: Super, thanks for the love. Ther's a big fight coming up in June, before that you've got some buisness to take care of in April. Give us your thoughts on that fight, and of course the big one in the summer.ZJ: Right now I can't think about June. My focus is on April 13th. I'm very excited, I think it's going to be a great fight. I've prepared myself well. I've been out of the ring for a whole year now, actually it will be a year in a week. By the time fight night comes. I just looking to go in there and show my fans that nothing's changed. I'm still here. The only thing that's changed is I'm more focused now. I know what I want out of this boxing game now. I figure with the next three fights, I'm going to solidify my name, Zab Judah, as the best pound for pound fighter out there. I don't care who's there, who's supposed to be the best, who calls themself the best, I'm back.Â
BT: I don't mean to harp on the negative, but can you give us your thoughts on how the Vegas commission handled your suspension? Your father gave us his thoughts a couple of weeks ago. Can we hear from you? Do you think it was fair at all the way they treated you?ZJ: You know how I do. One Judah speaks, he speaks for the whole Judah camp. Pop Dukes spoke, he told you what he felt. It's the same thing man. Ain't nothing that needs to be said anywhere else, but that. Like I told Vegas, in Vegas, I stand by my dog, my pops. If he barks, I bark. Sometimes he barks and I bite, what.Â
BT: Everyone knows about your fight coming up against Miguel Cotto. You said you're more mature. What kind of Super Judah are we going to see come April?ZJ: I can't look past April 13th, beacause it sets up June 9th. Witha trip or a slip on April 13th, there is no June 9th. I've been there before with the Boldomir and Mayweather fights, and there's not going to be repeat. I'm going to show the world, on this time around, that when I'm focused and I'm at my best, there's no boxer in boxing that can stop me. Period, hands down.
BT: What can you tell us about your opponent in April?ZJ:  He's a gutsy fighter. He's looking to come in, and throw a monkey wrench in, and spoil a lot of plans. I'm just not going to let it happen. Like I told them before, I'm the Michael Jordan of boxing. I'm the Allen Iverson of boxing. I'm the bad boy of the ring. Call me what you want to, just call me the best. That's it at the end of the day. Remember that.
BT: Right now a lot of people are probably shortchanging you, your back's against the wall. Do you like playing the underdog role?ZJ:  I'm from Brownsville, Brooklyn, baby, we ain't never had it easy. I'm from the home of the gritty. We ain't never had it easy. I like to be in position that I'm in right now, because it makes me feel back at home again. Everybody saw once I went to fight Corey Spinks. I went to Saint Loius, no disrespect to Corey, that's my boy right there, but I shut it down. Come June 9th I have a feeling I'm going to be in New York City, but it's going to be Miguel Cotto's hometown and I'm going to shut it down again. That's what I do. Up the block around the corner from Brooklyn, but I'm gonna shut it down. Watch. Trust me, man.
BT: Are you hungrier now than you've ever been?ZJ: I'm starving. I can't even put gas in my Maybach. Nah, I'm just joking with that. For real, I'm back at it like that. I've got my mind set to that. Right now Super Judah is hungry. I'm ready to do. I've got some great buisness partners right now. Brian Young, Russ Young, the whole Prize Fight Team. My boy Nate out there, Monte, everbody with the Prize Fight camp, I want to say thank you. Big shout out to them. I want to thank my Uncle Jimmy, my father, my number one, the backbone. Myfather, my uncle Jimmy and I have been in the trenches already. We've been training like dogs. We're going to come back and show the whole world you can't stop us. You cannot stop us. We're called the American Three, you can't stop us.
BT: Can we get an update on your brothers? When are they going to be back in the ring? Big shout to Big Danny Boy and Big Joe Gorilla Judah. Danny's about to go under surgery for his shoulder right now. In his last fight, his shoulder came out, so they're going to put him in surgery for that. Joe Jr. is training like a gorilla tearing down trees. He's chilling. Super Judah, April 13th June 9th watch this baby. Don't miss this. Brooklyn, we back.
