Video Transcription: Winky Wright

GL:  Talk to us Wink. "I'm happy because now I'm about to beat up on Bernard Hopkins.  A lot of people are thinking that it's a joke.  That I'm saying it just to be saying it, but I'm not.  Bernard is a great fighter, but it's time for him to be retired, and Winky Wright is going to do it."

GL:  How do you feel about some of the things he was saying at the press conference?  You got up there, said what you had to say, and kept it moving.  Bernard was up there for a while.

WW:  I like that.  It goes to show he's putting a lot of thought into Winky Wright.  Put that thought into me, because he's going to need to.  On July 21st, I'm coming to fight.  It's not going to be a joke.  He's going to say that he's big, and he did this, and beat this fighter up.  I beat the same fighters up that he beat.  I beat them worse than he did.  I just can't wait.

GL:  Of the two of you, you have the higher punch output.  Are you surprised that he's questioning whether you're going to come out to fight?

WW:  Yes, I was.  I come to fight every fight.  Are you going to run around to play around like you always do?  I'm coming to whoop you.  I'm coming to beat you the worst you've ever been beat.  After I'm done, you definitely won't want a rematch.  You may not want to fight anymore.

GL:  Will you ever fight at 160 pounds again?  You're looking like you're going to have to come down to 175.

WW:  Definitely.  I'm going back down to 160.  This is just the fight to prove that I'm the best.  I'll do what I have to do to show people that I'll fight the best.  Bernard is one of the best, so I'm going up there to fight him.  I'm a 60 pounder, a 54 pounder.

GL:  What does a victory over Bernard mean to you?

WW:  Like I told you before, I want to beat the best fighters.  De La Hoya, Trinidad, Moseley, Taylor, if you look at it I've beaten the best pound for pound fighters of my era.  When it's all said and done, you've got to say I'm one of the best.

GL:  You're the favorite in this fight.  Does that surprise you at all?

WW:  Yes, I don't like being the favorite.  You've got to remember, Bernard is the bigger guy, the stronger guy.  Don't make Winky Wright the favorite, because I need to bet on this fight.  I'm telling you right now, I'm putting it all on Winky Wright.  You all bet on Bernard, I'm going to bet on me.

GL:  Bernard was saying you're going to take more punishment on July 21st than you've taken in your entire career.

WW:  Not the way he fights.  He must be doing something we've never heard about.

GL:  So Winky's coming to bring it on the 21st?

WW:  If you can't make it to Vegas, get it on PPV.  I'm going to execute the Executioner.

GL:  When will training camp begin officially?

WW:  Right now, I'm going to be training in Vegas.  I'm coming for Bernard.  He's already in shape, he's in great shape.  He's got to keep himself in shape.  On July 21st, watch.

GL:  Give us some closing thoughts for the BoxingTalk fans.

WW:  A win.  On July 21st, Winky Wright dominating Bernard Hopkins.  You've seen and heard it first on BoxingTalk.com with my man G. Leon
