GL:  Boxingtalk.com getting a special visit from the world lightweight champion, Joel Casamayor, El Cepillo.  Tell us about it.  What's the latest and greatest?  You're here in Foxwoods to watch the unification fight.  You obviously want the winner, tell us about it.  "I definitely feel good.  I'm training, getting ready for my tune up.  I came out here to get the winner.  I'm going for Freitas.  I'd love to make history with him in a rematch, but if Juan Diaz pulls it off I'd have no problem fighting him or any other guy."

GL:  So your plan is to still fight on June 16th in Panama, or has that been pushed back?

JC:  It's been pushed back to the 22nd of June.  We're just looking to get a quick tune up fight and stay sharp.  Hopefully we'll get the best fighter in the world at the best weight.

GL:  Yesterday I spoke with Diaz, I spoke with Freitas, I spoke with Artie Pullulo, and Oscar Suarez and I asked them, "Should the winner of this unification bout be considered the real lightweight champion, because most people acknowledge Joel as the champion based on his win over Corrales?"  How do you feel about the situation, because they're saying that the winner of this fight is going to be the real champion?

JC:  Listen Up, there is only one lightweight champion in the world and that's me, Joel Casamayor.  I've got the BTalk belt on my waist, and I've got the ring magazine on my arm.  No one can take that away.  The only way they could take that away is in the ring.  The real champ is sitting right here in G's suite.

GL:  So after this tune up who are you going to be gunning for the most?  And who do you want to fight out of this fight, if you can get the winner, who do you want it to be?

JC:  To be honest, I really want to stay focused on the 22nd.  Whoever it is, it doesn't matter, that date is what's most important to me.  I really want Freitas, because I got robbed against him , and I want history.  I've already scratched out Corrales, I want to scratch out Freitas.  If it's not Freitas, I'll fight Juan Diaz, I'll fight anybody in the world.

GL:  You took the WBC title against Corrales, since then they stripped you.  You have no WBC title, Eric Morales is going to be fighting for that belt, how do you feel about that?  Do you think that's a crime?  Do you think that you should still have the belt, or at least you should be fighting Morales for the belt?

JC:  I feel like they did me wrong, but what can I do.  If Morales wants that belt, then he's going to have to come fight the champ.  I'm the champ.  I won the belt from the champ.  I beat the man who beat the man who had it.  I feel it's a crime, that it's a little racial towards me because I'm Cuban.  I'm not Mexican, but what can I do?

GL:  What was the WBC's explanation for why they took the belt?

JC:  That's been asked a lot.  They really haven’t given an explanation.  They say that basically Joel is going to fight Freitas, which is also unification.  I really can't answer that.  The WBC would have to answer that.

GL:  We're going to be getting a lot more of El Cepillo  on BTalk in the coming weeks and months.  Give us some closing thoughts for the fans.

JC:  I want to salute all my Latin fans and my fans across the world.  I want to shout out Miami.  Look forward to El Cepillo  making a big hit in the fall.  And my man one time on BTalk, G. Leon, it's exclusive.
