Victor Vazquez wins pro debut

Press Release: In his pro debut, Puerto Rican prospect Victor Vasquez showed the Reading, Pennsylvania crowd an array of boxing skill, hand speed and raw power en route to a second round technical knockout of Shane Lewis, 0-1.  The Philadelphia native sent Lewis reeling into the ropes from a four-punch combination that also drew Lewis' blood.   As the doctors waved off the fight, the pro Vasquez crowd in went into an uproar.   It is estimated that hundreds of Victor Vazquez' family, friends and loyal followers made the trip from Philadelphia to Reading PA in order to support the lightweight.  "The support my family, friends and my people showed me was unreal.  It was a dream come true," explained Vasquez.  "I worked very hard to get here and I am willing to do whatever it takes to get to the next level."  Vasquez is a product of Joe Hand's Gym which has recently moved to South Philadelphia. There he is able to spar with some of the best fighters in the Philadelphia area such as Miguel Figueroa, Rogers Mtagwa, and recently got in some good work with Reading PA's own Jason Cintron. Trained by Kevin Yeiser and Frank Ward, Victor is poised to continue to add to his offensive arsenal and continue growing to become a complete professional prize fighter. Â
