Venezuela's "Triple C" arrives in China for big fight

Vernezuela's Carlos Canizales has arrived in China for his junior flyweight fight on May 26th.in Fuzhou. Canizales has arrived on Asian soil this Thursday. Canizales (21-01-) will be defending his WBA regular title against Japan's Sho Kimura (18-2-2). [Japan's Ryoiti Taguchi is the WBA super champion in the division. Canizales fought Taguchi to a draw in 2016].  “CCC”, as the boxer from Caracas is nicknamed, will have some time to adapt to the weather and the time zone of China, a situation that is always a difficulty for fighters who go from one continent to another to fight. The champion traveled with his team, which is lead by his coach Nicolas Hernandez.

The next few days will serve as adaptation to the new region, but also to finish getting in tune and reach 108 pounds, the weight limit of the junior flyweight division. Canizales won his title in March of last year by beating Reiya Konishi and in July retained his crown for his first defense by defeating Bin Lu by TKO.

For the South American it is not new to visit Asia, since he has fought in Malaysia and Japan and has never lost a fight in that region. On the same show, Can Xu will also defend his WBA regular featherweight title against Japan's Shun Kubo. [Leo Santa Cruz is the WBA super champion at featherweight].
