Valuev wins as McCline's knee gives out

Injury could end McCline's career

Nikolai Valuev TKO3 Jameel McCline... Jameel McCline left the boxing ring on a stretcher, but Nikolai Valuev did not get the dramatic knockout he was hoping for. Instead, Valuev retained the WBA heavyweight title in Switzerland when McCline collapsed in the third round due to a dislocated knee cap. The 6'6" McCline took a swing at the 7-foot Russian and fell to the canvas as the knee gave out. He tried unsuccessfully to stand, couldn't continue, and had to be carried out on a stretcher. "I'm disappointed. I will remember this my whole life," McCline told the Associated Press. Valuev is now 46-0 with 33 knockouts, and he inched closer to Rocky Marciano's historic heavyweight record of 48-0. Reports say McCline was very competitive with Valuev until his knee gave out. McCline may have to remain in Switzerland and undergo surgery to stabilize his knee.  source: associated press
