Press Release: The German promoter of WBA heavyweight title Nikolai Valuev has confirmed the location of his upcoming title defense. As reported by Fightnightnews.com (a Boxingtalk advertiser), the Allstate Arena near Chicago will be the venue when the seven-foot tall Valuev faces Monte Barrett on October 7, 2006. Formerly known as the Rosemont Horizon, the arena will seat 16,000 for the heavyweight title fight. HBO and German television network ARD will televise. “We are firmly convinced of the fact that Nikolai will impress the Americans,” said Wilfried Sauerland. Valuev is 44-0 and has improved vastly since his American appearances, two early fights in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
