Those who read Boxingtalk are aware of continuing beef between WBO president Francisco "Paco" Valcarcel and boxing manager Rafael Guerrero. Earlier in the week, news reports from the Dominican Republic unearthed accusations of Valcarcel raping and drugging a teenage girl. Valcarcel fired back, claiming that these accusations had been conjured up by Guerrero, who manages WBO junior featherweight champion Joan Guzman. Remember, Guerrero and Guzman have been fueding publicly over Guerrero's claim that Valcarcel is out to harm Guzman's career. Today, Guerrero informed Boxingtalk that he will be holding a press conference Friday afternoon at the Wyndham San Juan Hotel - Isla Verde. The reason for this conference? Guerrero wishes to defend himself against Valcarcel's recent attacks and provide what he says is audio and video evidence of the alleged corruption by Valcarcel against Guzman. Guerrero says that during the last day he has received fourteen death threats stating that he would be shot to death if he arrives in Puerto Rico. Stay tuned to Boxingtalk for more on this saga.
