Here are the undercard results from San Antonio, Texas, where total attendance was 39,247 for Saul "Canelo" Alvarez's win over Austin Trout: 

With well-known trainer Ronnie Shields in his corner, Jermall "Hitman" Charlo (13-0) of Houston, TX made Orlando Lora (29-4-2) of Culiacan, Mexico quit on his stool at the start of the fifth round in a junior middleweight bout. 

In the Showtime co-feature, highly touted South Texan lightweight Omar Figueroa (21-0-1) scored an exciting first-round technical knockout over Abner Cotto (16-1) of Puerto Rico.  Cotto, a distant relative of Miguel Cotto, never got his footing as the pro-Figueroa crowd roared every time the South Texan landed a punch. Cotto first went down due to momentum from a series of rights and lefts. After that, Figueroa cornered Cotto with a series of wide punches and polished Cotto off with a thudding uppercut to the body that could be heard throughout the Alamodome. Cotto could not recover and referee John Schorle called off the bout at 2:57 of the first round. 

Alvarez stablemate Andres Gutierrez (26-0-1) of Queretaro, Mexico stopped Salvador Sanchez ll (30-6-3) of Tianguistenco, Mex in a super bantamweight bout.  Sanchez is the nephew of Mexican boxing legend Salvador Sanchez.  The bout was stopped at 1:25 of the fifth round. 

Two-time title challenger Raul Martinez (29-3) lost a split decision to fellow San Antonian and journeyman Omar Gonzales (6-8) in a shocking upset, also in the super bantamweight division.  Gonzales replaced Martinez's original opponent, Shawn Nichol of Colorado on Monday.  After the decision was read, Martinez told reporters he thought he won the fight.  Two of the three judges thought otherwise, turning in scores of 39-36 and 38-37 for Gonzales and 38-37 for Martinez. 

Mexican superstar Erik Morales's younger brother Ivan Morales (21-0) of Tijuana, Mex pounded out a unanimous decision against Raul Hidalgo (17-8) of Chihuahua, Mex.  All three judges had it scored 78-73.

Middleweight Julian Wiliams (12-0-1) of Philadelphia scored a TKO over Dashon Johnson (14-11-3) of Escondido, CA when referee Rafael Ramos  halted to the bout at 1:43 of round three.  According to Compubox, Williams had a connect rate of 55% on his power punches. 

In a super middleweight four rounder, 2012 Olympian Terrell Gausha (4-0) of Cleveland got up off the canvas after William Waters (2-4) of Valley, AL scored with a overhand right.  The contest featured several toe-to-toe exchanges.  Waters was the agressor, and Gausha scored with more accurate punches.  According to Compubox, Waters threw 227 punches, and Gausha only threw 140. In the end, all three judges scored the fight 38-37 for Gausha, but the crowd was very vocal in voicing their disapproval. 

Houston's Miguel Flores (11-0) defeated Guadalupe De Leon (8-14) of Weslaco, TX in a battle of featherweights.  Flores earned a unanimous decision with scores of 40-36 and 39-37 (twice).

Promoter Oscar De La Hoya, Two-Time World Champion 'Jesse' James Leija, Mayor Julian Castro, Congressman Joaquin Castro, and San Antonio Spur Tony Parker were all in attendance.
