Boxing returns to Charm City tomorrow night, as four local undefeated prospects headline promoter Jake "the Snake" Smith’s card at the DuBurns Arena in Baltimore. The main event features Baltimore super middleweight Mike "The Persecutor" Paschall (11-0-1, 2 KOs), scheduled to take on rugged veteran Jacob Rodriguez (8-17-0, 6 KOs) of Philadelphia. Paschall, a local fan favorite, looks to rebound off sub-par performances in his two most recent starts. Paschall narrowly beat William Gill by four round majority decision in March. The Gill victory was Paschall’s first fight since suffering the first blemish on his record, an eight round majority draw with Dhafir Smith last year.
In the co-featured bout, Baltimore heavyweight Mike "the American Dream" Dietrich (9-0, 4 KOs) continues his impressive comeback. Dietrich will be fighting for the third time since being stabbed five times in December 2005, an incident many thought had ended his promising young boxing career, in addition to nearly ending his life. In his first fight back, Dietrich got some needed work in by beating Jonathan Felton in a four round unanimous decision in May. Last month, Dietrich knocked out Darryl Holley in the third round at Duburns Arena.
Other undefeated prospects appearing on the card include heavyweight Adam "Boom Boom" Bloom (4-0, 3 KOs), and super middleweight Elais "the Golden Greek" Bouloubassis (1-0-3, 1 KO). Both fighters are from Baltimore.
The evening will begin with a potentially explosive amateur bout featuring hard-hitting super heavyweight Seth Mitchell (5-0, 5 KOs).
