Undefeated HW Alonzo Butler featured in Northwest show

Press Release: Promoter Art Pelullo and his company Banner Promotions will present a boxing show on Monday, January 15, 2007, in the Northern Quest Casino, located at North 100 Hayford Road in Airway Heights, Washington. In the main event, hard-hitting heavyweight prospect Alonzo “Big Zo” Butler, 24-0-1 with 18 KOs will fight Troy “Basher” Beets, 12-9-1 with 8 KOs, of Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Promoter Art Pelullo said, “We’re very pleased to kick off the New Year at Northern Quest Casino with a heavyweight main event. Alonzo Butler is one of the most exciting young prospects in the division, and matching him with a tough veteran like Troy Beets should produce some fireworks in the ring.”  Butler, now 27 years old, is managed and trained by Ace Miller, who took John Tate to the WBA heavyweight world title in 1979. “Big Zo” has put together 22 straight wins since fighting to a draw in his third pro fight. Beets, 32 years old, is a veteran lefthander. A lifelong resident of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, his biggest recent battle was outside of the ring - he was at home when Hurricane Katrina hit the Mississippi coast in August, 2005. Troy was involved in several rescue efforts during the storm, and is currently working as a contractor in rebuilding his home area.
