Houston Alexander vs. Thiago SilvaSilva brings a record of 11-0 with 9 wins by TKO and 1 submission. His record and the specifics of it are indicative of the type of fighter he is. He’s a highly aggressive fighter that uses both his legs and hands well. He also has solid takedowns and takedown defense and has proven that he has a jaw in previous fights. Alexander brings a record of 8-1 with 5 by TKO and 1 submission. Alexander is very powerful that and uses his knees well. He can take a shot as seen early in his fight with Keith Jardine. Just seconds after getting hit, Alexander knocked Jardin out. Not much is known about is his takedowns or takedown defense. Regardless, Alexander has been a crowd pleaser in his first two fights in the UFC.Â
Ryo Chonan vs. Karo ParisyanThis fight is another match between a former Pride fighter and UFC fighter. The supremacy of each organization has been debated by fans for years and since Zuffa’s purchase of Pride many of these matches have taken place. Parisyan is 17-7 with 9 submissions. He is known for his judo takedowns, skilled submissions and improving striking. Chonan is 14-7 with 5 (T)KO’s and 2 submissions. He is a good all around fighter who has submitted current UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva.Â
Frank Edgar vs. Spencer FisherEdgar brings a record of 7-0 with 2 TKO’s and 2 submissions. He has a strong wrestling background and has beaten UFC veterans Tyson Griffin and Mark Bocek in his only 2 UFC fights. Fisher has a record of 20-3 with 11 by TKO and 7 submissions. Fisher is an outstanding striker and is known for his two memorable UFC battles with Sam Stout.
