Tsurkan returns against Davis

PRESS RELEASE: NABF Jr. Middleweight Champion Andrey Tsurkan will defend his title against hard punching Thomas Davis on December 8th at the Paradise Theater in the Bronx, NY. Davis is remembered for his devastating first round KO over world rated Kendall Holt, Holt's only defeat.

Tsurkan (24-2, 15 KO's), who is coming off the most important victory of his career, a title-winning TKO 5 over Hector Camacho Jr. will try to improve his #9 World Rating against the hard punching spoiler in Thomas Davis (10-3-1 6 KO's). Davis' devasting knockout over Kendall Holt and recent win over previously undefeated Agustin Velez suggest an exciting fight.

"We wanted to give the fans an intriguing match-up for our first show at this beautiful venue and Tsurkan- Davis is just the fight" said promoter Joe DeGuardia. "Andrey's pressure is relentless and his chin is among the best in boxing, but we'll see if it can stand up to Davis' power. Davis has a habit of upsetting the best laid plans of many a contender."

DeGuardia expects that with a few more victories over notable foes such as Camacho and Davis, Tsurkan will be ready for his first world title shot. "The fans love Andrey because they know he always gives it all. The Paradise Theater may have hosted its share of mucicals, but there is no dancing when Andrey Tsurkan takes the stage."
