Triple A Promotions is looking to end the summer with a bang, presenting a day of both amatuer and professional boxing this Saturday night (August 15th) at The Shrine in San Antonio, Texas. There will be fifteen amateur bouts starting at 1PM that showcase gyms from all throughout South Texas. The professional portion of the show will feature nine bouts including San Antonio's own Javier Fernandez (20-0, 9 KOs) taking on Bryan Rodriguez (8-2, 1 KO) of the Rio Grande Valley in a eight-round junior lightweight showdown. The undefeated Fernandez is considered to be the next big thing from the Alamo City behind Marrio Barrios and Jesse "Bam" Rodriguez. The show will also feature a female bout with Lizzete Ramos of San Antonio taking on Naomi Pulliam of Kalamazoo, Michigan over four rounds and minimumweight. The chief support will pit super bantamweight Eric Messer of Killeen, TX in his pro debut against Santiago Vasquez (3-0, 2 KOs) of Poteet, TX, also set for four rounds. Cesar Cantu (3-5-2, 1 KO) of Weslaco, TX will tussle with Aseel Martinez (7-1-1, 2 KOs) of San Antonio in a four-round lightweight bout. Boxingtalk's Christian Schmidt will be the ring announcer. This event will not be streamed. The opening bell for the professional bouts will be at 7:30PM. Tickets can be purchased by calling (210) 605-8933.
