Fernando Trejo and Hector Velazquez will battle for the vacant NABF super featherweight championship on Sept. 1, Top Rank matchmaker Brad Goodman announced today. Goodman closed the riveting main event this afternoon. Trejo and Velazquez will box 12 rounds on a Top Rank fight card at the Route 66 Casino in Albuquerque, N.M. "It's a tremendous matchup, a fight I am really excited about," said Goodman, who put together the 2005 NABF 'Fight of the Year' when Jose Armando Santa Cruz out-slugged Edner Cherry in El Paso, Texas. Trejo (27-11-4) vs. Velazquez (44-11-2) will be broadcast on Solo Boxeo de Miller, Telefutura. Also featured on the big card will be one of Albquerque's favorite fighters, Ray Sanchez - a 17-1 welterweight who strikes with power.
