Bob Arum has informed Boxingtalk that Top Rank Inc has filed suit against Golden Boy Promotions. Top Rank filed the suit in Las Vegas, and is seeking a federal judge to make a declaratory judgement as to which Manny Pacquiao promotional agreement is valid, Top Rank's or Golden Boy. "We're not seeking any damages yet, right now we want the judge to decide which contract is valid. I believe this is an open and shut matter that won't take long for the judge to rule on."
What does Arum think about GBP's action, which Golden CEO Richard Schaefer informed Boxingtalk was filed in California earlier today? "We haven't even seen the suit, I know Schaefer told you he filed, but as of the time we filed they hadn't filed anything." Needless to say there will be more to follow.
