The WBA officially began operations in Mexico a few months ago. On Wednesday, it wil support a Mexican Independence show in Aguascalientes, Mexico, with local favorite Miguel Borrego (18-3) facing Venezuela's Jesus Correa (15-2-1) in the junior welterweight main event. The promoter of record is the Golden Ring company. Also on the card, Colombia's Liliana Palmera (29-13-3), a former 122-pound champion, and Mexico's Karla Ramos (6-9) will for a WBA regional super featherweight title. The event will also include fights for Paulina Angel and Veronica Zuluaga, who will have their first international experience.
