Tonight: Team Combat League semi-finals

Tonight (Saturday), fans can watch Team Combatl League's semi-final doubleheader at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on teamcombatleague.tv & DAZN.com. The first match-up pits the L.A. Elite vs. the Miami Stealth. Approximately two and a half hours later, it will be the Boston Butchers against the Philly Smoke for the other finals slot. L.A. Elite coach Manny Robles will look to guide his team to a berth in the second season’s MegaBrawl Finals behind the undefeated light heavyweight and TCL Most Valuable Fighter nominee Brayan Leon. In their quarterfinals triumph over the Orlando Vipers, Leon secured the night’s first star award for his devastating 10-7 knockout over Orlando’s Sanny Duversonne. The Elite also expect big things from TCL Most Entertaining Fighter nominee Raul Salomon, as well as Cuban featherweight Osvel Caballero. In the quarterfinals, Salomon continued his undefeated run through the league with a pair of 10-9 light heavyweight victories over Orlando’s Abimbola Osundairo.

Coach Herman Caicedo’s Miami Stealth will be hoping for another big night from middleweight Yordan "El Diamante" Barrera, who knocked out The N.Y.C. Attitude’s Eslih Owusu in the quarterfinals; the one-punch KO earned Barrera the night’s first star award, as well as from TCL Most Resilient Fighter Award nominee and long-time contender Yunieski Gonzalez. The Stealth will also be hoping for greatness from middleweight Raidel Rodriguez, who defeated New York’s Lasha Gurguliani twice in the quarterfinals, and TCL Rookie of the Year Award nominee welterweight Samantha Ginithan.

Boston Butchers's coach Marc Gargaro’s attack will be led by TCL Most Valuable Fighter Award nominee Alejandro Paulino, a lightweight who has become the bogeyman for his opponents the entire second season. Against the Atlanta Attack in the quarterfinals, the Butchers won by the second largest points margin all season, thanks to "El Abusador" Paulino getting the ball rolling early with a 10-7 KO over Atlanta’s Nicolas Sullivan that earned him the night’s first star. The Butchers will also need success from titanic heavyweight, Skylar Lacy, who was able to drop TCL Most Valuable Fighter Award nominee heavyweight Devon Young for a brief count in one of his quarterfinal matchups. Boston will be looking to repeat their narrow 226-225 victory they scored over Philly back in May, when the first bell rings on Saturday night.

Coming off the heels of dispatching the Las Vegas Hustle in the quarterfinals, Philadelphia Smoke oach Bob Kane’s Philly Smoke will be fighting to advance behind the blazing fists of TCL Most Resilient Fighter Award nominee Ray “The New Ray Robinson” Robinson; featherweight Rasheen “Sugar Sheen” Brown and middleweight Steve Cunningham, who picked up the night’s second star award in the quarterfinals for his victories over Las Vegas’ Sharif Rahman. Philly featherweight Shera Mae Patricio will also need to be in top form to repeat the quarterfinal success of her 10-9 victories over Jamie Mitchell and Melissa Odessa Parker. Heavyweight powerhouse Joey Dawejko remains an intriguing option as well for the deep Philly roster.

In all, two of the league’s strongest teams throughout the season will battle in the semifinals for the right to fight for the championship. The leather will be flying and when the dust clears, the stage for the Season 2 MegaBrawl Finals on Thursday, Aug. 1 at The Commerce Casino & Hotel in Commerce, Calif., will be set!
